Forró de Bicicleta was multicultural from the very beginning! When Mariana Maia from Brazil and French-Danish Miriam Ariana met in Copenhagen in 2016 their shared passion for bicycle-riding and Brazilian music led to the band Forró de Bicicleta.

Mariana is a multi-percussionist with the rhythms of Rio in her veins, and Miriam’s violin has a way with Nordic folk music, and all this is infused in the sound of the band. Many a musical friend has played along in the band, until 2018 when the Danish accordion player Niels Ørts Ottosen joined the group. In June 2022, the trio will release their first studio EP ‘Baiao no Peito Meu’.
